Each year, Barrett promises yet another fun and exciting SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP with three different three-week sessions, each culminating in an energetic and original musical theatre performance. But Standing Ovations Summer Theatre Camp is about more than just performing and having a blast; it's about bringing out that shining star that resides in each and every camper.
Barrett's Summer Camp offers the Center Stage program for actors 7 - 13, and a more advanced program for teens 13 - 16*. The camps, though separate, run simultaneously and come together for special presentations and events. The teens act as mentors to the younger actors and will often assist on their productions.
Here's a little taste of what your young actor will get from camp:
-
A speaking-role in one of Barrett's fun and original productions
-
An introduction to dance and movement for Musical Theatre
-
Voice and diction training
-
Basic and intermediate character development
-
Leadership Skills
-
Audition Techniques
-
Team Building
-
Special Presentations (i.e. Makeup for the Stage, Costume Design, Stage Combat, Dance, etc.)
-
Dress up days, Pizza days, Carnival, water activities on hot afternoons, and more!
* Age grouping is at the discretion of the director
